We’re talking nails! Many of us ladies have questioned the choice of wearing a natural manicure or acrylic overlay. An overlay is good for many ladies, as it protects your nails from breakage, allows your polish to stay chip free longer, and gives you a nice polished look.

My only issue with acrylic or UV gel overlays is they can potentially damage the nail bed. I wore overlays for years, and each time I removed the overlay for a fresh one, my nails grew weaker and weaker, as sometimes layers of my nail were removed with the acrylic.

If you choose to wear overlays, be very careful when removing them. Don’t rush the overlay off your nail! Take the time to properly soak the acrylic off to avoid damage.
