Kicks off this Sunday!! This is the 10th annual event, and they have packed the week with events from Sunday to Sunday, including a Praise and Worship service, Spoken Word event, and Speed Dating! This year I will attend at least 2 events and as many parties as I can take in support. Hopefully, if you live in Philly or are at least driving distance away, you will come out and support this wonderful showing of our Pride in Philly!

If crowded clubs and crazy lines are not your thing, we now have an alternative for you. PBGP presents the 1st annual Keeping It Reel Film Festival & Movie Madness @ Midnight. Swing through for a night of laughter, social consciousness, and inspiration as we screen films celebrating the many sides of LGBT people of color.

Snacks will be provided for the feature film.

Feature Film: Dreams Deferred: The Sakia Gunn Film Project (2008) 58mins
This documentary tells the little known story of Sakia Gunn, a 15 year old student who was fatally stabbed in a gay hate crime in Newark , New Jersey . “Dreams Deferred: The Sakia Gunn Film Project” depicts the homophobia that caused this murder and questions the lack of media coverage of the murder of a Black Gay teenager.

So, after a day of workshops, and before the pool party, stop by Spring into Love to get a taste of what the City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection has to offer. Yep. Philly actually has two Prides, Black pride is always in April, and General pride is in July.

I always like going to the film festivals.
There’s was pretty late. I probably wouldn’t have made
it through all of the movies.

I tried, I really did! But after Stranger Inside, I was done! And, the movie I really wanted to see, the Sakia Gunn Film Project, was cancelled at the last minute.
