Target's version of reusable bag.. it's 99 Cents!

This week’s Living Green Tip (LGT) is Reusable Bags! I absolutely do not shop without reusable bags. It just seems like the obvious thing to do! You can purchase a reusable bag at your local market, Target, heck, even CVS is selling them now, and they’re like a dollar.

Even if you don’t want to purchase a canvas reuseable bag, you can just reuse the same plastic ones that you get from the market. Bring them back to the market and many of them offer you a small discount of like 2 to 5 cents per bag on your order! You can also use them to line small wastebaskets, or to clean up after your pet!

I think the hardest part to the reusable bag switch is to always have one with you when you make an unexpected trip to the market, or even clothes or makeup shopping. The key is to have several of these bags, so you can leave some in your car or squeeze one or two in your handbag. I have about 6 or 7 of the canvas bags, and I always feel like I’m helping the environment in a small way when I tell the cashier that I don’t need any plastic bags.

Also, don’t limit your bag reusing to the market! They are good for holding all kinds of goods for trips to the dollar store, trips to the mall, and even trips to the drug store or library.
